Flight Lieutenant Rider (Service # C852) was from London, ON and was killed 22 May 1941 at age 30. He was the son of William and Ida Rider and the husband of Grace McCreery Rider, of Belleville, Ontario, Canada. He held a B.A. from the University of Western Ontario, London.

He is commemorated on Page 42 of the Second World War Book of Remembrance.

F/L Rider was killed in a Tomahawk aircraft flying accident during an attempted forced landing near Glamorgan,Wales.
