Flying Officer McKiggan (Serial # J23376) was from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario and was killed 28 July 1944 at age 25. He was the son of John Angus and Margaret McKiggan, of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario and the husband of Doris McKiggan of Wrexham, Wales and the father of a soon to be born daughter.

F/O McKiggan was killed when his unarmed Spitfire aircraft (#PL829) caught fire in the air and crashed near RAF Station Odiham, England.
