Flying Officer Ferris (Serial # J10785) was from Wawanesa, MB and was killed 20 January 1943 at age 26. He was the son of Charlotte Ferris, of Wawanesa, Manitoba, Canada.

F/O Ferris was flying a Mustang aircraft (#AG589) when shot down, during a shipping patrol, by an RNZAF Typhoon aircraft ten miles off St. Catherines Point, Isle of Wright. His body was picked up by a British Royal Navy vessel and was buried at sea twenty miles south of St. Catherines Point.

F/O Ferris has no known grave and his name is inscribed on the Runnymede War Memorial, Englefield Green, Egham, Surrey, England.
