Flying Officer Curphey (Serial # JI0225) was from Sherbrooke, QC and was killed 22 November 1942 at age 22. He was the son of Robert Lewin Curphey and Gabrielle Perrault Curphey, of Sherbrooke, Province of Quebec, Canada.

F/O Curphey was killed when his Miles Master aircraft went into a spin at 500 feet and crashed at Overton, Hampshire, England. A liaison officer, Lt. B.C. Clark, was also killed.
