Key Person in Keeping the Black Dinners Alive from 2011 through 2018

Dennis was a driving force in organizing and running the Squadron's Annual Black Velvet Dinners from 2011 through 2018.

He selected and arranged for the printing of the menus; liaised with Alson Cooling of 400 THS to get invitations sent out; prepared the schedule of events and arranged for guest speakers; and could often be found assisting in the laying of the tables on the day of the event.

Dennis also reserved the historic Armour Heights Staff College Officers Mess for the dinner, chaired those dinners, coordinated displays at the dinner by the 400 Sqn Pipe Band and (some years) a string trio during the meet and greet, covered the registration table when Alison could not, acted as treasurer and ensured a supply of the Black Velvet elixir. He was awarded the OBV in 2014 in appreciation of his tireless efforts in support of the BV Dinners.
